History of Present Illness

Honey went out first thing this morning and the gate was open. She and her playmate both went off and about 7am the neighbor called to say Honey had been hit by a car on the street and was limping. They did not see it happen but heard the brakes and a yelping. Honey came running home a few minutes later carrying her leg. She was excited and yelping when you touched her leg.

We took her to the emergency clinic and they said she should come up here. They did not give her anything and she whined a lot in the car on the way here. She has not eaten today, but she did drink some water. She has been panting the whole time, and she will not sit still.

Past Pertinent History

Honey is a house pet who spends most of her time in the yard or the basement. We have one other dog. Occasionally they get out and visit the neighbors. We live on a quiet street. She was spayed as a puppy and has had all her shots including Bordatella. She is heartworm negative and is currently on Interceptor.

She had a reaction last time she was vaccinated, but it may have been an insect bite. Her face swelled up for about 2 days, but she got over it fine. No drugs or treatment applied. They both eat free choice dog Kibbles(dry) - usually Jim Dandy brand.

She has never been sick or been treated for anything except worms and vaccinations.
