There are 2 small (1cm) abrasions on the lateral aspect of the right hock and the dorsum of the R hind paw. These abrasions do not penetrate full thickness skin.

There is a palpable instability of the R femur. The quadriceps compartment is distended and filled with fluid. The leg is held in flexion with the foot off the ground. Pain sensation is present in the R hind foot, and a withdrawal reflex is present as well. No wounds are visible in the area of the femur.

Respiratory sounds are harsh on the right hemi-thorax. Breathing is shallow. The abdomen is tense which makes palpation of abdominal organs impossible. Manipulation of the neck was resisted in all directions.

Thoracic skin tenting is prolonged and the mucus membranes appear tacky. Capillary refill time is 2.5 seconds in the gums.
