Loosening a Jammed Medullary Reamer Head The 3.0 mm Reaming Rod with offset ball tip is specially designed to prevent jamming of, or danger to, the Medullary Reamer Head. If a reamer head does lodge in the canal, disconnect the flexible shaft from the power source. Insert the Ram over the reaming rod, keeping the weighted end proximal. Grip the reaming rod above the Ram with the Locking Pliers. Loosen the reamer head by striking the Ram against the pliers.

If possible, the reaming rod should not be withdrawn across the fracture site. The position of the reaming rod should be reconfirmed with image intensification after this procedure.
