- (1) Slide the tibial nail over the 3.0 mm Guide Rod (A). Manually insert
the nail into the medullary canal as far as possible.
- (2) Orient the Insertion Handle (B) medially on the nail. The tabs of
the Insertion Handle must engage the positioning notches of the nail.
- (3) Pass the Threaded Conical Bolt (C) through the Insertion Handle,
and screw into the proximal end of the nail.
Note: Unlike the Universal Femoral Nail instrumentation, the conical bolt cannot be threaded into the Universal Tibial Nail before the Insertion Handle is in position. The conical bolt must he placed through the Insertion Handle first.
