Schanz Screw Insertion

[1] Insert drill sleeve assembly
Make a stab incision. Pass the triple trocar
(3.5 mm Trocar, 5.0 mm/3.5 mm Drill Sleeve,
and 6.0 mm/5.0 mm Drill Sleeve) through the
soft tissue and penetrate the periosteum.
Dimple the cortex with the trocar to prevent
walking of the drill bit.
[2] Drill both cortices
Remove the trocar, and drill through both
cortices using the 3.5 mm Drill Bit.
Note: 4.5 mm Schanz screw insertion requires
overdrilling the near cortex with a 4.5 mm Drill Bit.
