Twenty medullary reamer heads are available, ranging from 9.5 mm to
19.0 mm in diameter (0.5 mm increments). Medullary Reamer Heads are
are always used with a flexible shaft over the 3.0 mm Reaming Rod.
The head is inserted sideways into the dovetail end of the flexible shaft.
The head is locked in place when it is passed over the reaming rod.
Reaming is initiated with the Flexible Shaft with 9.0 mm front-cutting
reamer and progresses in 0.5 mm diameter increments. Advance the
reamer with a steady, moderate pressure. Do not force the reamer.
Partially retract the reamer often, to clear debris from the medullary
canal. This prevents the reamer head from jamming in the medullary
canal.
