Entry point - lateral view
The entry point for the nail is in line
with the medullary canal in the AP
view, and is at the anterior edge of
the tibial plateau. The location of the
entry point in relation to the tibial
tubercle varies with patient anatomy.
Make a longitudinal incision over
the midline of the tubercle, extending
proximally.
Retract the patellar tendon laterally,
or split the tendon, depending on
surgeon preference and patient
anatomy.
