The Howard Rosen Table Instructor of the Year for 2000

AO North America has established an annual award in memory of our colleague, Professor Howard Rosen. Because Howard was so dedicated to instructing during the practical work laboratories at AO courses, we felt it appropriate to create an annual "Table Instructor of the Year" award in his honor. Chairmen of AO orthopaedic trauma courses during 2000 were asked to nominate a table instructor who epitomized Howard Rosen's tireless and enthusiastic teaching efforts in the labs.

Michael Baumgaertner, M.D.

The first surgeon selected for this honor is Mike Baumgaertner, Associate Professor at Yale University School of Medicine, who did such an outstanding job teaching at the 2000 Colorado Springs AO Course. Dr. Baumgaertner will be invited as a faculty member at the 2001 AO courses in Davos in December. We congratulate him for this award, and thank him for his wonderful dedication to teaching in the spirit of Howard Rosen.
